El sector turismo está consciente que debe “sacudir la mata si quiere que nuevamente esta actividad se convierta en el eje motor de la economía de Puerto Plata”.

Incluso, las asociaciones de hoteles de la costa Norte, la cual está formada por las de Playa Dorada, Sosúa, Cabarete y Puerto Plata, han pautado para el próximo 2 de julio un encuentro en esta ciudad con representantes de las principales agencias de viajes de República Dominicana, incluyendo grupos de periodistas especializados en temas turísticos en el territorio nacional.

Para tales fines fue celebrada este martes último una conferencia de prensa en el campo de golf de Playa Dorada, la cual estuvo encabezada por los ejecutivos de dichas asociaciones hoteleras, los cuales dieron a conocer detalles ampliados de lo que será este encuentro que tiene como objetivo dar a conocer los atractivos con que cuenta la región de Puerto Plata, “de cara a la temporada de verano y lo que resta del año”.

Esta rueda de prensa contó con Máximo Iglesias, presidente de la Asociación de Hoteles, Restaurantes del Norte (ASHONORTE) y del Cluster Turístico; Roberto Casoni, presidente de la Asociación de Hoteles de Playa Dorada; el presidente del Club de Golf de Playa Dorada, ingeniero Miguel Angel Jiménez Mesón, (Chío).

Además, los gerentes hoteleros Julio Almonte, de Celuisma Tropical;  Daniel Ferrá, de Be Live Carey; María José Berver, de Iberostar; Alba Milanés, de Barceló; Janine Cocco, de Be Live, entre otros.

El líder hotelero de Playa Dorada Casoni explicó que la idea del evento surgió cuando se celebró el pasado año en dicho Club de Golf un “Road Show”, por lo que han querido extender este programa a este destino que es uno solo, ya que cada proyecto, cada hotel constituye parte de un solo núcleo en el aspecto turístico.

Resaltó que esta ciudad constituye un activo importante para esta zona turística, al tiempo  que señaló que con este evento “daremos el mensaje de que este destino sirve de parada para los vacacionistas que llegan a nuestra costa Norte, porque hemos sido bendecidos por la naturaleza, porque contamos con importantes atractivos más allá de la infraestructura hotelera”.

Casoni afirmó que Puerto Plata es el mejor destino de República Dominicana para hacer negocios en materia de las actividades turísticas inmobiliarias.

Por su parte, Iglesias agradeció a los periodistas el apoyo que ofrecen a esta actividad e indicó que los actores del sector están bien sintonizados en el convencimiento de que este es el momento de Puerto Plata.

Sostuvo que a pesar de que en este verano “estamos en momentos difíciles en lo que respecta a la ocupación, ha llegado la hora de actuar, trabajar unidos para poder lograr en tiempo prudente eventos nacionales e internacionales que ayuden al rescate de nuestro destino”.

Por su parte, Jiménez Messón (Chío), resaltó que es importante que “demos a conocer los atractivos que posee nuestro campo de golf en Playa Dorada, porque esta iniciativa nos ayudará a lograr que una mayor cantidad de visitantes lleguen hasta el destino turístico de nuestro Puerto Plata”.

PROGRAMA

El programa que han elaborado los hoteleros para llevar a cabo este evento incluye el traslado “todo cubierto” de los agentes de viajes de Santo Domingo, Santiago, La Vega, Bonao, San Francisco de Macorís, Espaillat (Moca); Mao (Valverde) hasta Puerto Plata.

Posteriormente, estos invitados de los hoteleros puertoplateños participarán de un gran evento en la Plaza Independencia de esta ciudad, el cual tiene como objetivo que éstos tengan un contacto con los ejecutivos de las empresas hoteleras para que conozcan de sus ofertas de verano.

Igualmente, les será ofrecida una cena de gala preparada por los diferentes chefs de los hoteles de la costa Norte, la cual será acompañada de un espectáculo artístico.

Además, se incluye visita a los diferentes lugares de interés históricos turístico de Puerto Plata, incluyendo un pasadía en el parque temático Ocean World ubicado en el destino de Cofresí de esta ciudad.

Posteriormente, los visitantes retornarán a sus respectivas ciudades.
